“What do I have to do to get results?”
Do you set goals only for them to not come true? Are you ready to jump off the ‘goal’ band wagon because they don’t work anyhow! Here are some key steps that you need to take in order to accomplish and reach your goals.
The first thing, you have to think positive because if you don’t think you can achieve it, you won’t. It’s mind over matter all the way! It’s your decision first, to want it to transpire, believe it can happen and then make the effort to make it materialize. Our minds are in control of our actions and I don’t have to tell you that positive thoughts attract positive things in life and that your negative mind attracts negativity. (But I did anyway ;)
How is your health? Eating well and exercising are great for energy. No energy = no action, you are too tired and unfocused. When you are not taking care of your health it will enhance negativity which attracts more – you guessed it, negative results.
Do you know why you are going after your goals? I coach so many women that are motivated, positive, full of energy, ready to go BUT they are totally focused on the ‘How-to’ of their goals. This leads them to sabotage their drive, energy, and ambition because they don’t know how, so they give up. When you know what you want and why you want it –the how’s will come. I recommend reading “Start with Why” by Simon Sinek.
Do you have an action plan? It’s great to have goals and know what you want and why you want it, but it’s still not enough… Why? Because all the best laid plans aside, if you just sit in the middle of the road – you are going to get run over!
This next thing is the bid daddy of them all…Discipline. When I work with my clients I teach them my FDA plan for goal setting…Focus / Discipline / Action. When you lack discipline you may procrastinate or you need to be motivated by something or someone else. However you define it, self-discipline is needed to get the task started, to stay focused and to finish it. Many of you are out there struggling trying to do it yourself because you think you cannot afford a coach, but a coach helps you to push through, gain clarity, solidify your ‘why’ and keep you accountable for what you say you want. It’s a little push (or a big one;) that fast tracks your results. Otherwise you don’t complete your action steps that you need to take towards your goals, and this leaves you unhappy and unsatisfied.
One last thing is that you must have a ‘never give up’ attitude, it is the key to being successful. Even if you plan, take action, think positive and you are super clear of your ‘why’, if you don’t have the perseverance to keep going even when the going gets tough (and it will), how will you ever achieve your goals? It all comes back to the start of being positive and believing. It will give you that driving force and determination to keep going until you reach your goal and get what you want! Go get it girl…. I’ve got your back!
To your success,
