As you may know, I do a lot of personal money coaching with couples and men and women individually. They come to me for a myriad of reasons, but the underlying commonality is that they don’t have a great relationship with money.
When you get honest and examine your relationship with money, you discover some truth about yourself, and in that truth you can then find the hidden possibilities and unanticipated confidence… You start to believe.
When you re-align your relationship with money you will be more truthful, free and effective. When you have less stress around money, you can then live your life with more integrity and in full expression with your deepest core values… no matter what your financial circumstances are.
So what does that look like? It’s paying closer attention to your behaviors around money. It’s also about the money scripts you are carrying around from your childhood, and usually you are not aware of them. They are shaped by your direct experience, family stories, and parental attitudes and behaviours. If you grew up with money messages such as; ‘Money is unimportant,’ ‘Rich people are greedy’, ‘More money will make me happier’ or ‘You have to work hard to get ahead’, chances are you might not be having a whole lot of success with money.
What I have found is that the way we treat ourselves and the way we treat our money are two sides of the same coin.
Imagine feeling completely at peace about your money–whether you’re earning it, spending it, saving it, or using it to help others.
Research into happiness and money has revealed a surprising truth: that the size of your paycheque has little to do with pleasure, and everything to do with getting your money aligned with your deepest commitments, values, and desires. It’s about re-examining your assumptions about money, wealth, and “enough.”
But money is a topic that we never want to talk about and a topic most do not want to deal with. Maybe you believe that you are bad at math and bad at finances. Since your reality is shaped by your beliefs, maybe it’s time to look at them and change this.
Are you holding yourself back from seeing that the flow of money is natural?
Here are the top 3 excuses I see: #1 – it’s just the way it is and/or it’s too late; #2 – if I had more money everything would be better; #3 – I was never taught about money.
In fact if you live with a partner, there are 2 money relationships to deal with. The sky-rocketing divorce rate is not because couples are cheating; it’s all about the stress of money. Either they never talked about it or when they did it was too late – it became a money shout.
I know from working with hundreds of couples (including myself) that what causes stress is usually the unknown. We do not know how the other is feeling, we don’t know our numbers and when we get surprised by something, we get stressed about it and then it gets worse. Then you start worrying about…. ‘What else don’t I know’?
Stress can cause you to make bad decisions, become bad-tempered, have restless sleeps, affect your health and generally can cause you to live a miserable life.
It doesn’t have to be that way; I work with you to remove the fear and stress from your money situation so you can be confident in all of your decisions. I help you uncover what your relationship with money is and heal it from the inside, connecting your heart to your head, so you can make decisions with ease, uncover your lifestyle dreams and goals …and achieve them.
If you feel like I am talking to you…don’t wait any longer. Life is short and money is just energy. It only has the power that we give it.
