Here we are in February already! How are you doing with any new plans you may have made for the new year? Still sticking to them, or have they lost their lustre. Are you already feeling frustrated?
When it comes to money I know that you can set good intentions of what you want and how you are going to handle the money in your life… but even the best laid plans can seem to go awry!
Why is that? Why do we sometimes unknowingly sabotage ourselves? What I know from my own personal journey is that we don’t always have the right mind set with the actions that we are taking, and this is so common when it comes to money.
You have probably heard this statement before – “Thoughts become things – make them good ones.” How you think determines how you act. Are you being a financial ostrich?
One of my workshop participants had this to say…”I like to keep my numbers fuzzy… then I do not have to take responsibility for them.” another said…. “For many years I would not look at my financial picture – I knew that once I understood the situation, I would have to make some decisions…” Are you hiding out from your money?
Money can have the power to weaken the confidence and strength of even the smartest women, the ones that seem to have it all together on the outside – but inside they are not having so much fun…..
I want to tell you that it doesn’t have to be that way… my goal is to help women to take off the mask and live the life that they dream about and show them how it is so “NOT ABOUT THE MONEY!”
Once you discover the simple truths about money – it sets you free to get on with living a ‘rich’ life (whatever that is for you). Most girls were brought up with different money messages than boys. I help women to overcome those barriers that are holding them back and open the curtain to an unlimited future.
Try this exercise…. Picture your grand kids and their children 100 years from now reading a letter that you wrote to them about money….lessons you learned and what is important. Go ahead and write that letter out…. this is very powerful.
Money can’t buy you happiness, but then neither does poverty! It is not wealth or poverty that makes you happy or unhappy…. it’s how you live your life. Money simply gives you choices that you might not otherwise have had.
I love this line by Dr Lois Frankel…. “You may recall an old line from Sophie Tucker: ‘I’ve been rich and I’ve been poor, believe me honey, rich is better.’ Of course it’s better. If you’re not happy being rich, it isn’t because you’re rich… it’s because you’ve got unresolved problems to work out. At least money can buy a good therapist!”
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter – and those who matter don’t mind!” ~Dr Seuss
Cheers!
