Have Goals, but remember; The Goals are not ‘the‘ Goals!

It has been said that a goal is a dream with a deadline. I absolutely love that definition. A goal is like a promise you make to a higher part of you. In a business – goals are really the driving force of you attaining your own prosperity. But what I have learned is that it is important to set goals – but your goals are not really your goals.

Here is an analogy that I think will illustrate to you what I mean; Your goals are like a tennis match; they force you to make a great shot, but the game is not about the net. It’s about tennis itself.

As you build prosperity, your goals are tools that can be used to motivate, inspire, and move you along –to help define the structure of the game.

Whatever it is; if you want to make $100,000 a year or $500,000; or if you want to own your own business; or quit your office job and write a book… that’s great. You need to set short term and long term goals – but the important thing to remember is don’t get lost in them. You still have to be the boss in your own life and be ready to change them if you need to. You have to trust in your own instincts… the place that just ‘knows’ – for me I call it my spidey senses!

You may not know right away exactly ‘what’ it is, but you need to not worry and enjoy the process and trust – it’s like taking part in a movie that has a happy ending. Even as the storms may rage and the bad guys attack, you play your part, but inside you are not worried. That’s because you know you will end up defeating the villains and end up walking into the sunset with Julia Roberts or Brad Pitt.

Sound corny? So what- it really is like that! – You are the boss of you and you really do know the key; and when challenges arise, you are responsible. You are the cause – not the effect. Remember when trouble or roadblocks appear – don’t rush into the victim mode and blame ‘whatever’ for your setbacks…. You have to see them as opportunities to achieve your greatness which brings you closer to your own prosperity.

So keep the big picture in mind, enjoy yourself, and the universe will open up. I know it happens for me all the time. I have learned that there is only one investment that you need to make, and that is in YOURSELF!

Have a great game!

Cheers,

Shari
