What are the benefits of working with a Money Coach?
I guess I could even start with, what is a money coach? I’ve been a financial advisor for over 17 years, but what is the difference between a financial advisor and a money coach?
Advisors are mostly interested in helping their clients arrive at a particular destination, like retirement. They are using the clients’ income and assets as vehicles for getting there. They also make sure you have all the bases covered in case of premature death, sickness or injury to protect your loved ones, assets and income.
As a money coach I’m more interested in what you want your life to look like, what do you want and why do you want it. I help you understand and resolve any of the ‘potholes’, patterns of beliefs or behaviors that have prevented you from arriving at that destination; such as debt, cash management, under-earning, or confidence to start your own business and not knowing how to get there, i.e. goal setting.
I added coaching to my business because so many people were sabotaging their plans – unconsciously-and they really did not have any solid goals, the were really only wishes and hopes, but no clear destination….. because it’s not about the money ;)
Here are 5 benefits and advantages that I can give you as your money coach:
1. You will benefit from my own experience (and the hundreds of men and women I have coached over the years).
I know what works and what doesn’t. I can answer your questions and provide advice, tools and strategies about everything from dealing with your debt, cash management, including making more money, looking at your future (retirement or just the next 5-10 years!), your investments and simply just having a plan of action to follow to help you to avoid making costly mistakes. It’s not about having to reinvent the wheel; I show you proven principles and strategies that have worked for me and my clients.
2. You will get non-judgmental feedback
I have been at the bottom, huge debt, no income, no plan and no hope. I offer constructive feedback and support and suggestions for improvement. It’s important to get feedback on how you’re doing and discuss what’s working and what isn’t. It saves you from wasting time doing things the wrong way. You can also bounce ideas off of me; I become a sound board to your dreams to help you be successful in your life.
3. You become accountable
One major benefit of having a coach is that someone holds you accountable for what you say you’ll do. Most people aren’t very good bosses of themselves, including me. I hire coaches to keep myself on track in my business and personal life. When you meet with your coach once a week, you’re more likely to follow through on your commitments.
4. Receive honest and moral support
I’ve been in your shoes, I understand the challenges you face around money. I provide a much-needed boost when you’re having a tough day, stressed out about your bills and I’m a great cheerleader of praise you when you do well. I bring a fresh perspective to situations and help you see things in a new light. Learning from others and my own experiences will help you realize that the struggles you’re experiencing now are normal and that when you know better – you’ll do better.
Because of my long term experience in the financial services, I can introduce and refer you to key people that will help you in your financial journey; accounts, bookkeepers, mortgage brokers, lawyers, and notaries. I also have a library of friends, clients and acquaintances in many different fields that I can rely on for help, advice and guidance.
I am offering you a chance to get to know me better. I will meet with you for 45 minutes and discuss where you are at and what I can do to help you and to see if we are a fit to working together. No commitment and no money… it’s free. My goal is to help you get what you want…. period (even if you are not quite sure what that is!).
I provide you with some questions to answer so I can get an idea of where you are at and we go from there.
